2006 Copernican Award Winners
New York City

For Immediate Release - May 4, 2006

Creative Good, a New York-based customer experience consultancy, announced the winners of the 2006 Copernican Awards last night, May 3, during a dinner held in the Rainbow Room at Rockefeller Center in New York.

The 160+ executives of the Creative Good Executive Customer Experience Councils nominated the 2006 Copernican Award finalists - see finalists - and then voted on the winners for each category.

The Copernican Awards are awarded annually (2005 was the inaugural year) to companies and organizations that succeed by putting customers at the center of their "business universe." Forbes is the media sponsor of the Copernican Awards.

The 2006 Copernican Award Winners:

--- LARGE CATEGORY ($1B+ in annual revenue or budget) ---

Google (GOOG)

(Other nominees: CarMax, Intuit, Mayo Clinic)

--- MEDIUM CATEGORY ($100M+) ---

TiVo (TIVO)

(Other nominees: Build-A-Bear Workshop, Citrix Online, Crutchfield, FreshDirect, Peapod, Restoration Hardware, Travelocity)

--- SMALL CATEGORY (Less than $100M) ---

The votes of the Customer Experience Council members resulted in a tie, so both companies won:

del.icio.us (subsequently purchased by Yahoo! - YHOO)
Heifer International

(Other nominees: Answers.com, Campaign Monitor, Threadless)

"Forbes is proud to support Creative Good and the Copernican Awards," said Kendall Crolius, VP of Marketing at Forbes. "As a company that also recognizes the importance of putting the customer first, Forbes applauds all of the companies honored."

Creative Good CEO Phil Terry said, "Like the misguided early notion - debunked by Copernicus - that the universe revolves around the earth, many businesses today still think that they, not their customers, are at the center of the business universe. The Copernican Awards recognize companies that put customers first. Customer experience will be as important in the 21st century as advertising was in the 20th century."
